QUANT

Privacy

Draft for legal review before launch.

0° Quant is based in British Columbia, Canada. We handle personal information under British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada's PIPEDA. If you're in the UK or EU, you also have the rights the GDPR gives you, listed below.

What we collect

  • Your email address, when you join the waitlist, back a Labs feature or sign in.
  • Your email choice: whether you opted in to updates, when, and the exact wording you agreed to. Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) requires us to keep this.
  • What you send us: Labs pledges, comments and suggestions.
  • Partner applications: the name, organisation and contact details you send us.
  • Cookies: one keeps you signed in and one protects forms from forgery; both are needed for the site to work. If you arrive through a partner's link, a third cookie remembers which partner sent you, for 30 days, so they can be credited. We use no advertising or tracking cookies and no third-party analytics.
  • Server logs (IP address, page, time), kept for up to 14 days to keep the site secure.

What we use it for

To run your account, count your pledges, and email you sign-in links. We send launch news and the free Night Read only if you ticked the box to say yes, and every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link. We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it except with the services that run the site (hosting and email delivery), under contract.

How long we keep it

Until you delete your account. Unconfirmed sign-ups are removed after 30 days. Payment records, once we take payments, are kept as long as tax law requires.

Your rights

You can see, correct or delete your information at any time. Delete everything yourself from your account page, or email us. You can also withdraw consent to emails at any time. If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

Trade uploads

When a member uses Trade check, the file is read in the server's memory to build the results page and then discarded. We don't save the file, the trades or the results, and we don't use them for anything else. Trade histories can contain account details, so remove anything you'd rather not send before uploading.
